Daomaker staking provides DAO Power for private SHO access under each network's staking rules

Daomaker staking supplies DAO Power for private Strong Holder Offering (SHO) participation through DAO token commitments. Ethereum also calculates DAO rewards using staking shares. BNB Smart Chain uses a withdrawal cooldown, while Solana staking requires wallet linking for DAO Power recognition. Reward weight and private-sale eligibility follow different rules.

DAO rewards and private-sale access

DAO Power supports private offerings, while Ethereum reward shares determine DAO payouts. BNB Smart Chain staking primarily serves DAO Power access. A longer Ethereum commitment adds reward weight. Private offerings also use contributed DAO, so a stake and an offering contribution serve different functions. The project's token allocation belongs to the offering; DAO rewards belong to the stake. Funding a sale therefore requires considering the DAO contribution alongside the DAO already committed to staking.

What makes a stake count toward DAO Power?

A DAO stake supplies base DAO Power, and Solana additionally requires the profile to connect the staking wallet with a BNB Smart Chain wallet.

Base power and allocation multipliers

Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain staking credit one base DAO Power per DAO staked. The DAO Power multiplier schedule applies a zero multiplier below 250 base DAO Power and reaches 1.3 in its highest band. The staked DAO amount, final DAO Power and Ethereum reward-share balance therefore describe separate quantities. Allocation multipliers affect DAO Power; staking-duration bonuses affect reward shares.

Solana wallet linking

Solana uses the BNB Smart Chain staking settings. Its DAO Power setup also requires signing with both a Solana wallet and a BNB Smart Chain wallet. The profile links those wallets after staking. This link lets Daomaker associate the Solana stake with its DAO Power calculation.

Ethereum reward shares and daily funding

Ethereum assigns reward shares using the DAO amount, commitment length and Share Rate. The calculation adds base and bonus shares, then divides that total by Share Rate. The resulting shares set the stake's proportion of each day's reward pool.

Term and amount bonuses

Ethereum staking accepts commitments from 30 to 1,095 days. The term bonus adds 600% in shares per committed year, up to 1,800% for three years. Stakes between 50,000 and 1,000,000 DAO also qualify for a size bonus ranging from 0% to 50%. These percentages describe additional share weight. The payout also reflects the rewards available to distribute and the total participating shares.

Share Rate and daily rewards

Ethereum calculates a stake's daily reward as the day's total rewards multiplied by its share fraction. That fraction is user shares divided by the day's total shares. Daily reward funding can vary. Share Rate affects the shares that a new stake receives, so a later commitment can have different reward weight despite an unchanged DAO amount and term. Adding the actual daily rewards gives the period's accrued DAO reward.

How much DAO can an early Ethereum exit consume?

After Ethereum's 15-day initial hard lock, early withdrawal can consume accrued rewards and some principal if the penalty exceeds those rewards. The charge uses the rewards attributable to Fee Days, which cover half the committed term subject to a minimum. Ethereum applies a minimum of 30 Fee Days when calculating an early-unstake penalty. A withdrawal before those Fee Days have elapsed needs an average-reward calculation, because the full reward interval hasn't occurred yet.

For that earlier exit, the fee equals accrued rewards multiplied by Fee Days and divided by elapsed staking days. The returned DAO reflects the original stake plus its payout, less the applicable penalty. A longer commitment can therefore increase both reward weight and the fee interval relevant to an early withdrawal.

Withdrawal paths and their prerequisites

Withdrawal timing changes the charge attached to the same DAO stake. Ethereum compares the exit with its selected term. BNB Smart Chain and Solana distinguish a completed cooldown from an expedited withdrawal. An unfinished cooldown leaves a choice between waiting and an expedited exit with its charge. The relevant comparison is the net DAO return for the selected timing.

Table: Withdrawal paths and their prerequisites
Withdrawal choice Staking charge Required stake state
Ethereum at scheduled maturity No early-exit penalty Committed term has just finished
Ethereum before maturity Reward-based early penalty Initial hard lock ended; term unfinished
BNB Smart Chain after cooldown No cooldown penalty Unstake request's 15-day cooldown completed
BNB Smart Chain expedited exit 15% of staked DAO 15-day cooldown hasn't completed
Solana after cooldown No cooldown penalty Unstake request's 15-day cooldown completed
Solana expedited exit 15% of staked DAO 15-day cooldown hasn't completed

Ethereum's getStakeStatus reports a return estimate, payout and penalties for a specific stake. Before ending the stake, compare that estimate with the DAO amount that you intend to recover. A completed StakeEnd event records that stake's payout, penalty and served days. Changing the withdrawal day can alter the estimate through further rewards or an early-exit charge. The November 9, 2021 Venture Yield announcement also described a late-withdrawal fee beginning more than 30 days after maturity. Under that rule, the fee would increase linearly over 100 late days to consume the entire stake plus rewards, leaving 0 DAO to withdraw. The Ethereum staking code includes a late-penalty calculation, but the newer guide doesn't specify its grace period or calculation scale. The completed record and actual DAO return establish the withdrawal outcome independently of a displayed annual percentage rate (APR).

When does DAO Power fall after unstaking?

Unstaking DAO on Ethereum removes the stake's associated DAO Power; the BNB Smart Chain rule removes power 15 days after an unstake request. Allocation multipliers also influence the resulting total. A withdrawable stake can therefore have a different status from the DAO Power that an offering requires. The withdrawal schedule controls access to staked DAO, while the offering's maintenance rule controls eligibility for later project-token releases.

DAO Power commitments during token vesting

Private SHO participation carries a continuing DAO Power requirement for future project-token unlocks. A participant whose DAO Power falls below the level used for an offering has three days to restore the missing power. Failing to restore it causes the participant to lose all future token unlocks from that project. Daomaker displays a notification when the participant needs to increase DAO Power to preserve that eligibility.

An offering's refund terms govern the project-token purchase. Staking withdrawal terms govern the DAO commitment. A completed staking term can still support an unfinished vesting schedule, so an exit requires considering the DAO Power obligations attached to those future releases. Before retaining a mature Ethereum stake, confirm its applicable late-withdrawal deadline and penalty. Before using stakeGoodAccounting to retain DAO for future releases, confirm whether the accounted stake still contributes the required DAO Power. After maturity, anyone can call stakeGoodAccounting to stop that stake's late penalty increasing. Accounting leaves the stake in the contract; its owner must call stakeEnd to withdraw any remaining DAO.

Daomaker staking - your questions answered

Can a public-offering Boost provide DAO Power without a separate stake?

A public offering's DAO Boost can provide DAO Power without a separate staking position. Withdrawing that Boost DAO removes its associated power. Public offerings nevertheless calculate their own allocations without DAO Power, so the power that Boost creates serves a different allocation purpose.

Does the 5% platform fee apply to DAO returned from staking?

The 5% platform fee concerns project-token allocations claimed from an offering round. The deduction comes from those tokens. Staking withdrawals follow their own penalty rules, so the offering's claim fee isn't a calculation rule for returned staking DAO.

Will withdrawn DAO retain its original cash value?

The cash value of withdrawn DAO depends on the token's market price when converted. Staking rewards and withdrawal penalties change the DAO quantity, while price changes affect what that quantity is worth. A larger token balance can therefore have a lower cash value than the original commitment.

How does withdrawing and restaking affect my Ethereum reward shares?

Restaking creates a new reward-share calculation using the DAO amount, eligible bonuses and Share Rate. The system checks Share Rate when a stake ends and can increase it to prevent repeated restaking of rewards from multiplying share entitlement. More DAO in a replacement stake doesn't automatically produce more shares.

Does staking DAO automatically win a private-offering lottery ticket?

Staking DAO doesn't automatically award a private-offering lottery ticket. The lottery requires a contribution in multiples of the offering's ticket size. A participant's weighting defines a range for the draw, and a winning number must fall within that range for the contract to assign a ticket.

Can my DAO Power secure the same allocation in every private SHO?

A private allocation can change between offerings even when your DAO Power stays constant. Guaranteed allocation uses your DAO Power, the offering's target raise, its guaranteed ratio and the total DAO Power registered. Your contribution also matters: depositing less than the calculated allowance limits the amount that you can receive.

What does a 600% Ethereum share bonus tell me about APR?

A 600% Ethereum share bonus specifies additional reward weight; it doesn't state an annual percentage rate. Ethereum calculates payouts using the stake's final shares and each day's reward distribution. Share Rate and the total participating shares affect that calculation, so the bonus percentage alone can't establish APR.
